Betrayal – Poem

Betrayal

The moment it happened, I felt your eyes on mine
Time after time, I couldn’t help the crime.
I pulled the trigger, felt the recoil reaction
holding myself, trying to get traction.
If you only knew, the damage I’ve done
to save you from the dangerous one
Who knew in that moment of dark misery
that the most dangerous person to you, was me.
