distraction

distraction

I write,
because the words
overwhelm.
Echos of
Should’ve
Would’ve
Could’ve,
the thoughts permeate
and resonate,
between the To-Do’s
and “can you’s”.
So I write.
Deadlines and tantrums
push boundaries,
schedules, and sanity.
Sleep doesn’t come
so I let go of the thoughts,
escaping
and regaining control,
by writing.

Prompt
