no time

no time

It finally arrived,
everything I hoped.
Except I don’t have time
to enjoy it.
I will stare at it longingly,
while I go about my day,
until my schedule agrees
that I can set aside my time
to play.

This was a prompt for an “annoyance” poem from the poetic asides website.

Your Turn

I just got a new credenza and I’m dying to spend a full day organizing our family’s files to give me some semblance of control. But I don’t have control over my time, and must get back to deadlines and my family. What is annoying you today?
