These are silent times.
While the myriad of voices
continue to confuse,
inspire, and collude online,
outside, there is peace.
Birds chirp louder,
voices carry farther,
sirens cut deep
into the city silence.
There is no laughter
among friends,
no children screaming
at the park,
no polite good mornings
to neighbours.
I miss those sounds.

What have you noticed that’s different during quarantine?
