There is a redeemer,
Jesus, God’s own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One,
Jesus my redeemer,
Name above all names,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Oh, for sinners slain.
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
‘Til the work on Earth is done.
When I stand in Glory,
I will see His face,
And there I’ll serve my King forever,
In that Holy Place.
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
‘Til the work on Earth is done.
There is a redeemer,
Jesus, God’s own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One,
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
‘Til the work on Earth is done.
And leaving Your Spirit,
‘Till the work on Earth is done.
Keith and Melody Green
Its been a really long time since I’ve read the book, but I was reminded about it yesterday while my bible study group was discussing older worship songs. The name Keith Green popped up, and I was surprised to know how little my group knew about his life. For those who may have forgotten, Keith Green and his wife Melody wrote the worship song, There Is a Redeemer. Melody also wrote the inspiring story of her husband’s life and tragic death in the book No Compromise. It is about their search for faith and purpose in God, and the way they deal with people, and their ministry.
In university, one of the campus christian group leaders read the book, and was so inspired by the “give-away” ministry that Keith and Melody Green had with his music, that they ordered 200 books to give to us. Melody Green found out about it, and doubled the order, free for them, so they could give out the books. When I read the book, I gave away my copy to read, but loved it so much, I bought a second. I then proceeded to pass that one along too. I have since bought a third copy, and passed it along. Its that inspiring. I hope that you will read it, and think about passing along his story.
