stress – a poem

Stress

A moment in time
a hairline appears.
finding the path
of least resistance
it jaggedly creeps
inching slowly
from one side to the other.
Barely visible
it will only take
one small strike
for the foundations
to crumble.

Fly Tower ConstructionFor today’s prompt, write a stress poem. The poem could be about something that stresses you (or someone else) out: for instance, death, taxes, and/or Star Wars prequels. Or the poem could be about something you (or someone else) want to stress: for instance, your aversion to Star Wars prequels. Of course, you can bend the prompt to your whim. – Robert Lee Brewer
