Side Note:
I’m taking part in the 2014 PAD challenge, which means this is a break in what I usually post. Today’s Poem is to:
For today’s prompt, write a together again poem. It’s one thing to split up; it’s something else to come back together again. Sometimes getting back together is a good thing; sometimes it’s a bad thing; and sometimes it’s just awkward.
Instead of writing for NaNoWriMo, I’ve decided to make these poems inspired by the second draft of my work-in-progress, currently titled “Arch Villains”. It will also be posted in the PAD Challenge post.
Together Again
I imagine his lips
curled into a sinister smile
behind the metal mask.
he can’t see where.
He calls confidently.
It’s time to play
as we always do.
Others I barely hold him back.
But I never stop trying.
caught in a codependent conflict
that hurts more than ourselves
every time we meet.
How about you?

I like it, Heather! It makes me curious about the characters. Did writing this poem help you visualize them?

Thanks Kasie! I’ve been finding the prompts are really helping me fill in the nuances of the characters, and visualize some scenes.
