Side Note:
I’m taking part in the 2014 PAD challenge, which means this is a break in what I usually post. Today’s Poem is to:
For today’s prompt, take the phrase “Holy (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. I like to think of this as the “Robin prompt” from the old Adam West Batman shows, because Robin would always make exclamations that began with “Holy,” including “Holy Barracuda,” “Holy Happenstance,” “Holy Rats in a Trap,” “Holy Homicide.”
Instead of writing for NaNoWriMo, I’ve decided to make these poems inspired by the second draft of my work-in-progress, currently titled “Arch Villains”. It will also be posted in the PAD Challenge post.
Holy Crusade
Say what you will
about my Holy Crusade.
I believe in a whole world
at peace
where everyone is equal
no one above another.
Say what you will
about my means to an end.
I believe my dream
so strongly
that unfortunately
sacrifices must be made.
Say what you will
it’s not up for debate.
I believe to achieve
harmony
one opinion must
take precedence.
Say what you will
about my Holy Crusade.
I believe you’ll find
your opinions
will align with my own
for your sake.
How about you?
