Went out with my cousins last week in Celebration of Dine-Out Vancouver 2010. We went to Boneta in Gastown where we had a really sumptuous $38 meal. Each restaurant has a fixed 3-part menu of $18, $28 or $38 that consists of a starter, a main course, and a dessert. The dinner was amazing! At Boneta, a French restaurant, I had:
Appetizer: Green Bean Salad, Hummus, Preserved Lemon, Harissa, Ricotta Salata, Fried Shallots
This was so light and delicious.
Main: Pan Seared Halibut, English Peas, Cherry Tomato, Basil, Israeli Couscous
This was wonderful, the Couscous was fantastic with the English peas and the lightly seared fish.
This is an alternate choice my cousins had, the Braised Pork Belly, Navy Beans, Swiss Chard, Carrot, Parsnip Puree, Radish.
Dessert: Chocolate Financier, Peanut, Warm Chocolate Soup, Vanilla Ice Cream (I didn’t get a picture 😦 )
If you are in town next year for Dine-Out Vancouver 2011, I highly recommend you try Boneta, or one of the many other restaurants participating in Vancouver.
Update: I did take pics of the yummy desserts after all, and here they are!
