blind ambition – a poem

Side Note:

This poem does not actually reflect any of my work.

I’m taking part in the 2014 PAD challenge, which means this is a break in what I usually post. Today’s Poem is to:

For today’s prompt, write a blind poem. Three blind mice, blindfolded, “she blinded me with science,” “houston in the blind,” and so on. Maybe this is the one poem you try to write with your eyes closed.

Instead of writing for NaNoWriMo, I’ve decided to make these poems inspired by the second draft of my work-in-progress, currently titled “Arch Villains”. It will also be posted in the PAD Challenge post.

Blind Ambition

when you started out
foundations freshly formed
ideas firing furiously
did you think
you’d end up
courting clients
with questionable morals
all so you can
fulfill professional fantasies?

your ideologies
or lack thereof
let you play
without consequence
until now.
what will you choose
now that there is a cost
to your blind ambition?

How about you?
