unlearn – a poem

unlearn

How can I unsee
when it pierces my skin?
Untapped knowledge
unidentified stains
permeate my soul.
Underneath it all
I am undone.
Unsettled
I understand
the undertones
and realize
I can’t unlearn
what I know about you.

poetic asides

For today’s prompt, write a learning poem. The poem could be about things you learn at school, on the streets, or in affairs of the heart. Heck, the poem could be about things you learn poeming–or anything really. Have fun with it! – Robert Lee Brewer
